Empowering Communication
Building Stronger Voices, One Session at a Time
Literacy Links provides personalized speech, language, and reading therapy for children, focusing on connection over compliance, progress over perfection, and lasting results.
Colleen Ellis, M.A., CCC-SLP
I'm Colleen Ellis, the owner and speech-language pathologist (SLP) at Literacy Links. I have over 20 years of experience as an SLP working with children with communication needs. As a parent to neurodivergent children, I know what it's like to be on the other side of the therapy table. I strive to provide a relaxed environment and lead with compassion. Speech therapy should be fun for your child!
My special areas of interest & training include:
-
Orton-Gillingham approach to reading intervention
-
DIRFloortime®
-
Augmentative/Alternative Communication (AAC)
-
Complex speech sound disorders
-
Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP)™
-
Gestalt language processing
-
Narrative language intervention (story telling)
When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two children, and our many pets, along with rooting for Philly sports teams, reading, writing, and spending time outdoors.

-
speech/verbal communication
-
non-verbal communication (e.g. gestures/pointing)
-
sign language
-
augmentative/alternative communication (AAC)
As the parent of an autistic child, I understand the importance of connection, and I will work hard to build a relationship of trust with your child while building social skills such as joint attention, turn-taking, and social/emotional reciprocity.
I strongly believe in meeting children where they are and incorporating their areas of interest into therapy sessions.
